Abstract

Optic neuritis is inflammation of the optic nerve. The cause of the inflammation and the most appropriate treatment is a subject of debate. This article will review a typical case of optic neuritis, the clinical manifestations of optic neuritis, and the findings of the Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial.
