Abstract

An 18-year-old male presented at Sankara Eye Hospital, Anand, with gradual diminution of vision in each eye since childhood. There was no history of systemic disease, surgery, or medications. There was no relevant family history or history of consanguineous marriage. On examination, visual acuity was 1/60 in each eye. Intraocular pressure was 16 mm Hg in the right eye and 14 mm Hg in the left eye. Slit-lamp examination revealed bilateral dense granular opacities in the anterior stroma with smooth corneal surface. The deposits were marked centrally, with a peripheral rim of clear cornea. The patient was diagnosed with bilateral anterior stromal granular corneal dystrophy and planned for bilateral deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty.
